La Liga Preview: Sevilla vs. Barcelona

By | September 29, 2012

There are a lot of things to win Barcelona this season. One of the major titles is winning the La Liga title. But this is not an easy task, though Real Madrid is now eight points behind of Barcelona. Obviously, Barcelona must be happy with the points, but should not be pleased the way it is playing in the La Liga. Barca is getting full three points from the very first match against Real Sociedad, but yet to dominate the full 90 minutes. This match is special because Sevilla will not let Barcelona get the full three points very easily, and Barcelona has to show that it is not just winning; it is winning CONVINCINGLY.

Unfortunately, Barcelona only played like genuine Barcelona against Real Sociedad. Barca had to suffer a lot even in the last match against Granada. Lionel Messi has been phenomenal scoring goals ceaselessly wearing #10 jersey of Barcelona, but he has to be in the limelight full ninety minutes; otherwise this could be a difficult match for Barcelona to score because Sevilla, the host, is yet to lose in La Liga this season. Amazingly, It beat Real Madrid, the defending champion of La Liga, recently at Sanchez Pizjuan, where it beat Granada as well. So, it is not going to be an easy match for Barcelona at Sanchez Pizjuan.

Sevilla will be without Freddie Kanoute, but it is still very dangerous for the visitors because both Navas and Cicinho can create a lot troubles for the visitors as Barcelona has always been poor when it comes to defending the counter attack of the oppositions. Unfortunately, Pique, Puyol, and Iniesta are not sure to play, so the defense has to face some REAL threats.

Barcelona tops the table. Even if it loses, tit will be at the top position. But this match or this season is not about only winning; it is also about building up a team that can win a lot of trophies with Tito Vilanova in the near future.
