Becoming a soccer coach is not an astronomical task to do if you have passion for the beautiful game. Without any passion, you cannot continue any job for a very long time successfully. If you have knowledge on soccer coaching, then you could start as a volunteer in a youth or recreational soccer team. AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) is a good option to explore. If you do not have sound knowledge on soccer coaching, then you should start taking some basic football coaching courses to build up your confidence. Then you could start volunteering. Remember, you cannot coach if you are a parent of a player of any youth team. Youth team is the best place to start because there are plenty of opportunities available as football is the most popular game in the world. Kids do love it very much. Then, you could go for higher soccer coaching certificates so that you can grab more opportunities. If you live in the USA, then you need to complete as E, D, C, B, or, A grade certifications. E is the initial course; you will get “A Grade” at the end if you want to complete all of them. You should get “A grade” because the more you learn, the more you can apply on the soccer field. Surely, higher certificates and exams will take you one step closer to a professional soccer team. Don’t forget National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). You will get information on individual state in the resources section. It offers three levels of certifications A, B, and C. It also talks about various types of certifications like diplomas, youth certificates, and so on. Also, it offers soccer workshops. So, be alert like a sharp soccer STRIKER. Now, you have some certificates, so you should start looking for better opportunities in terms of salary and other opportunities. With your success in the youth level and some certificates will allow you to get jobs in high schools. Yes, they may not be full time, but they are worth doing to get more experiences.

Your next goal would be coach a varsity/college team. You could get a full time job there. And don’t forget USL (U.S. Soccer League) and MSL (Major Soccer League).
