Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona Copa del Rey Result 28-1-2015
It was a really exciting game that we saw at Vicente Calderon, when Barcelona came to Madrid for their second Copa Del Rey game against Atletico Madrid. The first game at Camp Nou ended with the result 1:0 for Barcelona.  Barcelona didn’t concede a goal in the last 4 matches and they were on a winning streak that hoped to be continued in this game too.

Game barely started when the shock for Barcelona came. Torres scored an amazing goal in the 1st minute of the match. But Barcelona didn’t have to wait long for a response. In the 9th minute, Messi passed the ball to Suarez, who dribbled trough home defense and passes to Neymar who hadn’t have hard time scoring.

Atletico didn’t have in mind to give up on this game yet. They fought hard and a reward came when Mascherano fouled Juanfran in the penalty area. Garcia confidently took the ball and scored an easy one in 30th minute. Atletico scored another one in the 38th minute but Miranda scored in his own net and the result was 2:2. Three minutes later Neymar scored another goal after a marvelous solo action by Alba- That was all for the first half.

In the pause a bizzare thing happened. Gabi received a red card of the pitch and Atletico Madrid knew they have finished their story in Copa Del Rey. In the second half tempo was much slower with each team thinking more about keeping the ball than attacking. Atletico Madrid tried to get back in the game but they just didn’t have the strength. Mario Suarez got another yellow card in 84th minute and Atletico was down to bare bones. Barcelona decided not to strike so hard, and the final score was 2:3 for Barcelona.
